Educación en línea: Evolución, beneficios y expectativas

Resumen


La evolución de los modelos educativos no ha sido un proceso repentino y rápido, por el contrario, ha ocurrido de manera paulatina pero constante, encontrando que uno de los resultados más significativos ha sido la educación en línea, que se define como aquella que incluye diversas formas de estudio en todos los niveles, donde no existe supervisión inmediata de docentes presentes, ni alumnos agrupados en los salones de clase y sin embargo, se benefician de la planificación, orientación y enseñanza de una organización dirigida. Esto implica que la instrucción se realiza a través de una conexión a un sistema informático en un lugar distante de la computadora personal del alumno. Por tanto, la educación en línea se presenta como una alternativa de instrucción para el aprendizaje y la enseñanza a distancia. La presente revisión bibliográfica tiene por objetivo analizar la educación en línea, revisar la definición, determinar las diversas modalidades, establecer la diferencia con la modalidad de estudio a distancia, considerar las ventajas y desventajas y finalmente ofrecer una visión general de las expectativas de esta modalidad educativa.
